Episode 17

Palms and Perfume

Published on: 3rd August, 2026

Six days before Passover, Mary empties a year's wages on Jesus' feet, a crowd waves palm branches and shouts 'save now,' and a group of Greek seekers finally gets the answer: 'the hour has come.' We dig into the honor culture behind the Bethany dinner, why nard and reclining posture actually mattered, and what the palms and 'Hosanna' were really asking for.

Of course we have trivia and a fantastic joke of the week and find out that Luke and Nathan eat way too aggressively.

I'm a small business owner (really small, like just me!) working as a pool repair specialist. My wife and I have a house FULL of family and we try to keep it running as smoothly as possible.
I have a passion for research and I absolutely love learning more about the Bible, it's history, the people in the stories, the culture and the background. I serve a risen Savior and am completely humbled that He loves me.
I hope to share what I learn to as many people as possible, to help generate the same impact on their lives as the Word has had on mine.
